--A lost Mt. Hood climber called for mountain rescue this week, and also posted his emergency status on Facebook. While many have been rescued from Mt. Hood over the years, this marks the first time anyone has posted about their experience while they were still on the mountain. To read more, click here.
--A massive avalanche occurred in Idaho's Sun Valley on Monday. The slide took place in the Lookout Bowl and traveled the length of the mountain. No one was injured. To read more, click here.

--So this video is absolutely terrifying. This climber rappels into a position where he intentionally raps off the end of his rope. It's hard to see, but he's on a second rope, set up for a massive swing across the face of El Capitan.

--Information is scarce, but Moab based climber Joshua Dale Riggs, 32, was killed while climbing at Arizona's Paradise Forks on Monday. To read more, click here.
